Banner Elk: It's Impossible To Be Bored At This Summer Sanctuary
While skiing on the slopes of Sugar Mountain or Beech Mountain are at the top of our NC winter itinerary, Banner Elk is more than just a “powder paradise”! It just so happens that Banner Elk is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the Carolinas during the summertime.
Our summer Banner Elk itinerary includes the following:
- Going “no-hands” on the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster (and taking on the canopy-level adventure course — how's THAT for a treehouse getaway?!)
- Attending an engrossing “Keeper Talk” focused on elk, bear, and otters at the Grandfather Mountain Wilson Center for Discovery
- Traversing the precarious Mile High Swinging Bridge — on a windy day, it feels like the bridge is screeching!
- Splashing around at Wildcat Lake or the more secluded Elk River Falls
- Petting the alpacas at Apple Hill Farm
