Rural Hill Sheepdog Trials and Dog Festival
Every year, the sheepdogs at the Sheepdog Trials and Dog Festival in Historic Rural Hill compete in a range of physical challenges. On November 4th and 5th, 2023, they will take part in tests designed to assess their herding abilities, agility, and obedience.
Attendees can purchase food and beverages and, if they dare, make their way through the pet adoption area. There will also be an opportunity to meet the dogs and their handlers, while sessions on the history and training of sheepdogs will prove educational and entertaining.
New this year is Huntersville's Next Top Dog Show, which will feature prize categories like “fluffiest coat,” “curliest tail,” “silliest name” and “best trick.”

Go On A Graveyard Hike…If You Dare
The woods are calling…or is that a voice from an unsettled spirit, determined to seek revenge upon unassuming hikers?
Have no fear! Led by a professional naturalist, a hike through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is sure to be an unforgettable (and certainly survivable…) adventure. Upon booking, you'll discover hidden waterfalls, ancient forests, and delicate mountain streams while learning about the rich biodiversity of the Appalachian region. Keep your eyes peeled for old abandoned homes and graveyards from centuries past — each one with its own story to tell. Your journey will culminate with stunning vistas of the Smokies.Β Book a Cherokee woodland walking tour.
