Christmas Town USA®
December 1–26, 2025
Each December, McAdenville transforms into the world-famous Christmas Town USA®, where millions of red, green, and white lights blanket the streets in nostalgic holiday glow. Stroll or drive through from 5:30–10 PM nightly, and be sure to arrive early to enjoy dinner, cocktails, or a scoop of ice cream in this storybook village. It’s like stepping back in time to rediscover the wonder of Christmas past.
Holidays at the Gardens
November 28 – December 27, 2025
Daniel Stowe Conservancy becomes a sparkling oasis during Holidays at the Gardens, where pathways twinkle beneath thousands of lights. Gather around fire pits for s’mores, explore the glowing Prairie Castle Playground, or ride the new holiday trackless train. Visit with Santa on select evenings or sneak into the adults-only Speakeasy for a festive cocktail. With food trucks, and the scent of pine in the air, this is holiday magic in full bloom.
Christmas in Kings Mountain

The holidays in Kings Mountain bring old-fashioned charm and bright new traditions. Patriots Park comes alive decorated with holiday lights, transforming the heart of downtown into a storybook wonderland. On select weekends, families can enjoy visits with Santa, hayrides, a living nativity, and carriage rides through the park lit with glowing lights.
Also in downtown, the Kings Mountain Historical Museum invites visitors to explore its beloved Toyland: Games, Toys, & Trains exhibit, featuring elaborate model train displays and vintage toys from generations past.
New this year in downtown Kings Mountain, the Nutty for Nutcrackers Museum features the largest nutcracker collection east of the Mississippi, with over 3,400 unique pieces. From historic figures like George Washington to pop culture icons like Bob Ross and superheroes, the festive Christmas Room delights visitors of all ages — a whimsical, family-friendly stop for your holiday weekend.

Snowless Tubing at The Chutes

Experience sledding without freezing your buns off! When the sun goes down, The Chutes Winter Tubing lights up the night with glowing lanes and plenty of laughter. This evening adventure features three 200-foot runs designed for high-speed, snowless fun — no mittens or frostbite required. With colorful winter lights, music, and a family-friendly vibe, it’s one of the most unforgettable ways to enjoy winter in Gaston County. Even better, proceeds support local youth programs, so every ride gives back to the community.
Winter at Whitewater Center
Mid-November – Mid-February
Adventure meets winter wonderland at the Whitewater Center’s annual holiday celebration. Lace up for ice skating, explore illuminated forest trails, shop the winter pop-up market, or warm up by a fire with friends.
