Beaufort, North Carolina, is bringing the Mardi Gras vibe to the coast

On Saturday, March 1st and Sunday, March 2nd, 2025 visit Beaufort for this two-day celebration. Enjoy parades, costumes, live music, and mouth-watering food—without having to fly all the way to Louisiana.

A Weekend Full of Festivities

From the lively parade to the famous Masquerade Ball, Beaufort’s Mardi Gras offers tons of fun for everyone. Enjoy Cajun food at the street carnival, check out the gumbo competition, and don’t miss the Sinner’s Remorse Brunch for the ultimate recovery.

The parade takes over Front Street and Middle Lane with colorful costumes, lively krewes, and plenty of beads and charms flying your way. Don’t miss the Sweet Potato Queens, a fun-loving group of local women in extravagant costumes that add a southern twist to the festivities.

Celebrate Mardi Gras in style!

Get your fill of New Orleans-inspired food—think gumbo, po’boys, king cakes—while enjoying live jazz and street performers. The best part? The carnival is totally free, happening from 11 am to 5 pm on both days. Watch both pros and amateurs battle it out in the gumbo competition. Held in the West Parking Lot from 12 pm to 10 pm, it’s your chance to sample some seriously delicious creations and vote for the best.

Masquerade Ball: The Party of the Weekend

Dress up and dance the night away at the Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball. Interactive food stations, a Bourbon Street Tasting, and live music make this ticketed event (6 pm to 10 pm) the place to be for a sophisticated and fun Mardi Gras night.

Sinner’s Remorse Brunch: Recover in Style

After all the partying, head to the Sinner’s Remorse Brunch for authentic New Orleans breakfast dishes, mimosas, and Bloody Marys. It’s the perfect way to relax and enjoy the final day of festivities from 11 am to 2 pm.
