Festival Highlights:
Freedom Run – Kick off the week on Saturday, June 28 with a 5K & 1-mile fun run along Southport’s scenic streets. Start your celebration on the right foot!
Beach Day – Head to Oak Island on Tuesday, July 1 for sandcastle contests, live music, and family games all day long!
Arts & Crafts Market – Browse handmade treasures from talented artisans July 2–4 along Bay Street. Find something uniquely patriotic!
Live Music – Rock out all week with performances by Steel County Express, The Tim Clark Band, Liquid Pleasure, and more on the Main Stage.
Freedom Flotilla – Don’t miss this festive boat parade on the Cape Fear River! Decked-out vessels sail by in a red, white, and blue spectacle that’s pure coastal magic. (Check local listings for time & best viewing spots!)
Parade – Wave your flags on July 4 as over 120 entries—including floats, dancers, veterans, and the newly crowned Miss North Carolina—march through downtown Southport in grand patriotic style.
Fireworks Extravaganza – Cap off your Independence Day with a dazzling fireworks show over the Cape Fear River. Bring a blanket and enjoy the boom with the best waterfront views around!
